1. Who we are
Vurzel (vurzel.com) is a free resume checker and career toolkit operated as part of the HappyMynds portfolio of web properties. For privacy-related questions, contact us at happy.mynds@gmail.com.
2. Resume and tool data (processed locally)
When you use the resume checker, resume builder, paste checker, or related tools:
- Files you upload (PDF, DOCX) are parsed in your browser using client-side libraries (e.g. PDF.js, Mammoth.js).
- Extracted text and analysis results are generated on your device by our JavaScript check engine and feedback tools.
- We do not upload your resume file or its contents to our servers.
- Draft data in the resume builder may be saved to localStorage on your device only — not on Vurzel servers.
- Scan results may be stored in sessionStorage in your browser tab so you can navigate to results or fix tools without re-uploading.
Clearing your browser data removes locally stored drafts and session results.
3. Information we may collect
Because core tools run locally, we collect minimal personal information by default. We may collect:
- Usage analytics — aggregate page views, referring URLs, device type, browser, and approximate location (country/region) via Google Analytics or similar services.
- Advertising data — cookies and device identifiers used by ad partners to serve and measure ads (see Section 6).
- Contact information — if you email us, we receive your email address, message content, and any information you choose to include.
- Server logs — standard web server data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are not linked to resume content.
We do not require account registration to use Vurzel.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Vurzel and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Remembering preferences (where applicable)
- Measuring site traffic and performance (analytics)
- Delivering and personalizing advertisements
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some site features but will not prevent local resume analysis from working.
5. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4 (or comparable analytics) to understand how visitors use Vurzel in aggregate — for example, which pages are popular and how users navigate the toolkit. Analytics data does not include your resume text or uploaded files.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting cookie preferences in your browser.
6. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Vurzel is free to use and may be supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites on the Internet.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on visits to vurzel.com and/or other sites.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, visit aboutads.info to opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising.
For more on how Google uses data from partner sites, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertisements are clearly separated from tool functionality. Ads do not affect your resume scores or analysis results.
7. Third-party services
We may load resources from third parties that have their own privacy policies, including:
- Google — Analytics, AdSense, Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com)
- jsDelivr / CDN providers — delivery of open-source JavaScript libraries (Bootstrap, PDF.js, etc.)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not send resume content to external AI or cloud processing APIs.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal data, including access, correction, deletion, or objection to certain processing. Because we do not store resumes on our servers, we cannot retrieve or delete resume content you previously scanned — it was processed locally on your device.
To exercise rights related to contact emails or other data we hold, email happy.mynds@gmail.com. Users in India may have rights under applicable data protection law; users in the EEA/UK may have rights under GDPR — we will respond to valid requests within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children’s privacy
Vurzel is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us with personal data, please email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of Vurzel after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes may be noted on the homepage or this page.
